In 2001, Ron was asked by the Seattle trainers to do a session with someone who was not Hakomi-trained. This session with Tom is a wonderful session to use for teaching. We have used it to introduce the method to people new to Hakomi and in all levels of a training as there are so many amazing and subtle examples of Hakomi demonstrated here. All the elements of the Personhood series are evident in Ron’s way of being – loving presence, a spacious quiet mind, attention to nonverbal expression, and emotional nourishment. This is a beautiful example of how to be with someone, totally present yet relaxed, skillfully attuned and respectfully collaborative but without trying to make something happen, in the spirit of simply being together human to human in what is clearly a healing journey.
Video Disclaimer: The videos from the Ron Kurtz archives were filmed under a wide variety of conditions and in some cases, sound and/or video quality are poor.
Video Disclaimer: I have made a personal decision to publish all the session materials in Ron’s archives for two reasons: first, all of these session videos were filmed in front of students with the implicit or explicit permission that Ron would make them available for teaching purposes and second, some session videos in the archives were restricted and I assume not meant for sharing in which case I have not published them. If you are in one of the session videos and wish not to have it public, I will remove the video from the library.
