Hakomi Training

The Hakomi Way: Relieving Unnecessary Suffering.

What is the Hakomi Education Network?

Hakomi Education Network (HEN) is an international association dedicated to supporting people experiencing and learning Hakomi as Ron Kurtz’s legacy. In this way, we embody and share an open-hearted way of relating and supporting our human potential. HEN trainings emphasize experiential learning and are characterized by demonstrations and experiential exercises. HEN supports and promotes trainings throughout the world, and they are delivered by independent training centres both in-person and online.

A unique aspect of training with the Hakomi Education Network is that we use experiential pedagogy. The Hakomi principles underpin every Hakomi experience whether it is called a training, a workshop, a circle etc. Teaching Hakomi is not linear…you learn about yourself and the method at the same time.

Become a Certified Hakomi Practitioner

If you are interested in becoming certified in the Hakomi Method, find a training team in your area that is offering Hakomi events.

Hakomi training will help you develop both your personhood and your skillfulness as a human and a therapist.

“The basic work of health professionals in general, and of psychotherapists in particular, is to become full human beings and to inspire full human-beingness in other people who feel starved about their lives.” (Chogyam Trungpa)

“The creation of a healing relationship in therapy requires that the therapist be a certain kind of person, a person who is naturally compassionate, able to be radically present, able to give full attention to another, able to see deeply into people, and to understand what is seen.” (Ron Kurtz)

Events

All are welcome to join our events.

Come and explore a taste of Hakomi, guided by expert trainers from around the world.

Hakomi Training is characterized by demonstration and experiential exercises. It is a method of assisted self-discovery, a way to help people become aware of their implicit beliefs and habits. Hakomi training is for people who have the courage and capacity to discover how they became who they are. To be an effective Hakomi practitioner you must be more than just someone who knows a method. A practitioner must be someone whose very presence can be healing, a person who has all the qualities needed to support emotional healing in another. Hakomi training reflects and embodies this emphasis. (Ron Kurtz)
